"WEE BITS" Sunshine Committee, Sue Faulkner

shamrockTom and Lula Maye Walsh have a new Great Grandson, Topher Ace Lowe, born Jan. 16, at  McKinney Medical Center.  He weighed 9 lbs. 13 ounces, and he is doing very well.  His parents are Christopher and Layla Lowe who live in Allen.  Layla is the granddaughter of Tom and Lula and daughter of Mellanie Bremingham.  Topher makes 3 great-grandchildren for the Walshs.

shamrockOn a sad note - Jim and Toni Degnan, long-time members, had an unfortunate tragedy during the holidays.  Their home in Plano suffered serious fire damage.  At present time, are living in a neighbor's home and hopefully it won't be too long before they are able to rebuild.  Our hearts and concern go out to them.

shamrockYou’re a Star is Irelands biggest talent search! and Margaret Graham's nephew David O'Connor is in the finals.  They sing live every week in The Helix in Dublin to remain in the running for an exclusive record deal.  Many members know Dave from his visit to Dallas a few years ago.  For more information visit: http://www.rte.ie/tv/star/davidoconnor.html

shamrock Father of Ev Cassin passed away recently.  Our heart-felt sympathy and prayers go out to both Ev and Tim who are this year's IAS Treasurers.

shamrockAs many of you know, Laura Gainey, one of our past Texas Rose of Tralee candidates for the year 2000,  drowned recently off the coast of Nova Scotia in a sailing accident, while working on a tall ship as a crew member. This is a very sad and heart-breaking time for the Gainey family and we send our sincerest sympathy to them all.  Bob Gainey, Laura's father, was the Downtown Dallas Parade Grand Marshall in 2000, as well as the general manager of the Dallas Stars when they won the Stanley Cup in 1999.

shamrockCarol-Anne Wilson, a long-time member of the IAS, recently underwent surgery at a hospital in New Orleans.  The family has asked for your prayers

shamrockTom and Lula Maye Walsh celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary May 20th with their children Tommy and Michael Walsh, Tina Walsh, Mellanie Bremingham and granddaughter
Layla McRoberts with a grand evening at the Old Warsaw Restaurant here in Dallas. Festive violin music with piano and toasts and the works, even a wedding cake and they were chauffeured down in a new Gold Lincoln Town car by their son Tommy. Many wonderful memories were brought up with pictures, toasts with champagne, and gifts from all finished a very special evening for them. Their daughter Kathleen Stoll and family could not attend but were with them in spirit and thoughts.

shamrockCorrection: The wedding of Bill Beichler and Kelly Krafft was not
held in Cancun afterall. Because of the hurricane damage there, the
wedding plans had to be changed. A fabulous wedding took place in Dallas
with lots of family and friends being able to attend.
Congratulations to the newlyweds.
