Halloween Party - 2007

The ancient Celtic observance of Samhain (sah-ween), which marked the journey of the past year's dead to the otherworld, got an enthusiastic reenactment at the Irish-American Society's Halloween Party Oct. 19. Costumed revelers danced to live music, enjoyed a deli buffet and admired an assortment of creative jack 'o lanterns decorated by members. Attendees ranged from a ghost and a Druid priestess to a more modern pirate, knight, Little Red Riding Hood, an Indian tribe and lots of other imaginative characters.

Rosemary O'Neill, dressed as Charlie Chaplin, had the best individual costume. Joe and Ann Brophy won for the best couple's costumes: he was dressed as a nun and she, as a priest. Sue Faulkner was the driving force behind the party, and if you missed it, you missed a great time.
