How You Can Support The Tour

Support for our tour has already come, and will continue to come, in many forms.  Any and all support is appreciated, and will help to promote the awareness of under-resourced Catholic schools across the country.  However, the tour also hopes to raise financial support for some of the neediest schools in the ACE program.  By giving generously to these schools, you will not only be helping a school, but you also be changing lives.  All of us on the tour can attest to that.  The schools listed below are those for which the tour participants will be riding, if you feel like you may be able to support any or all of these schools, please make checks payable to “University of Notre Dame-ACE Tour” and send to:

Little Flower Catholic School

Located in Mobile, Alabama, this school was built in 1934 and has had thousands of students walk its halls during its 70+ years of existence.  The school has a wonderful history. The teachers and students are like a family; most of the teachers and the staff of this school know their students well and love the Little Flower community. Also, Little Flower is a wonderful example of diversity, with Caucasian, African-American, Latino, and Asian-American students. This diversity most-clearly exhibits the schools’ catholic roots by embracing a vision of universality that is often missed in many schools today.  In great financial need, the school strives yearly to meet the expenses to provide this Catholic education to a truly universal student body, and the Tour hopes to generate support for this school and all the students who enter its doors.

Resurrection Catholic School

Located in Pascagoula, Mississippi, the history of this school dates back to 1882, when 6 Sisters of Perpetual Adoration established a convent and a school.  Since that date, there has been continuous Catholic education for the local community on the same site.  This continual tradition was put into jeopardy recently as it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, which brought 3-4 feet of water throughout the entire school.  This subsequently resulted in the need to replace every locker, desk, book, and every piece of teaching material and science equipment.  The athletic equipment was also lost, and they are still wearing jerseys that have a different schools logo on them.  The Tour hopes the provide support to this school which provides such a rich tradition and strong roots to the Pascagoula community.

All Saints Catholic School

Fort Worth, TX

All Saints Catholic School is the oldest Catholic school in Fort Worth having been founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in 1905. Since its inception, All Saints has educated many local community and church leaders. All Saints serves the Hispanic community of Fort Worth and is located close to Fort Worth’s cultural district and downtown.  Parents continue to send their children to All Saints because of the formation their children will receive in a strong Catholic, moral and academic education. Everyone works to promote the Catholic identity of All Saints while continuing to provide a strong academic foundation.   Financial difficulties have hindered the growth of the school in the past number of years. But as the school looks to the future, it is hoped that ongoing planning initiatives will lead us to realistic solutions to ensure the availability and viability of Catholic education here at All Saints for many years to come.
