North Texas Irish Festival, March 2006

The North Texas Irish Festival (www.ntif.org) is the largest Celtic festival in the Southwest and Dallas’ largest music festival of any kind. Festival organizers draw Celtic musicians from around the world and fill out their seven stages with top regional and local groups. Each festival has a theme used as a focus for cultural activities, which is secondary to the music. There is an extensive vendor area, where people can buy Celtic-related merchandise, food, and performers’ CDs and tapes. Cultural groups and other organizations are invited to participate to further magnify the Celtic orientation of the festival.

This was the 24th annual festival, with a theme of "Heirs of Erin". The Irish-American Society has participated in the festival for much of NTIF’s history. The goal is to acquaint the public with our organization and develop interest in our activities.
